This Privacy Policy explains how Grey Root Labs ("we", "us", or "our") accesses, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Android application Termux Tutor - Tools & Command (the "App"), which we publish on Google Play under the developer name Grey Root Labs.
Our applications were previously published under the name Code Ninja Apps. Grey Root Labs and Code Ninja Apps refer to the same developer, and this Privacy Policy applies to the App regardless of which of these names appears on your device or in an earlier listing.
01 Who we are
The data controller responsible for the App is Grey Root Labs, an independent app developer based in Gujarat, India. You can reach us at codeninjaapps07@gmail.com for any question about this policy or about your data.
This policy covers the App identified above and no other product.
02 Scope
This policy describes our data practices for the App only. It does not cover the Termux application itself, any third-party website, or any other app you may install. Termux is a separate application with its own privacy policy, and we do not control it or the data it handles.
03 Information we do not collect
The App requires no account and no sign-in. We do not collect or request:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Your contacts, calendar, photos, videos, or personal files
- Camera or microphone access — the App does not request these permissions
- Precise or GPS location
- SMS messages, call logs, or any other messaging data
We do not sell your personal data.
04 Information stored only on your device
The App saves a small amount of preference data locally so that it works the way you left it. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us:
- Your favourite tools
- Your recently viewed tools
- Your light or dark theme preference
This information lives in your device's private app storage. We cannot read it, and it is deleted automatically when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
05 Advertising
The App is free to use and is supported by advertising. We work with third-party advertising partners who deliver the ads shown in the App. The App may display banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ad formats.
To serve and measure these ads, our advertising partners may collect and process:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID) | Serving relevant advertising and limiting how often you see the same ad |
| Device information — model, operating system version, language, general device settings | Ad delivery, compatibility, and fraud prevention |
| IP address and approximate location (country or region derived from the IP address) | Ad delivery and compliance with regional advertising rules |
| Ad interaction data — which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped | Measuring advertising performance and reporting to advertisers |
These partners act as independent data controllers for the information they collect through advertising, and they handle it under their own privacy policies. We do not control the data they collect. Ads are delivered through an advertising mediation platform, so the partner that serves any individual ad can vary by region and by ad request.
Your choices about advertising
You can control advertising identifiers and personalised advertising at any time in your Android device settings:
- Open Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device
- Delete or reset your advertising ID
- Turn off personalised advertising
Opting out does not remove advertising from the App, but the ads you see are less likely to be based on your interests.
06 Information received by our servers
The App downloads its catalogue of tools and commands from our server at bhai4you.com. When the App makes this request, our server automatically receives the standard technical information that any web server receives, including your IP address and the time of the request.
The App does not send your name, email address, account details, advertising ID, your favourites, or any other personal identifier with this request. We use this technical information only to deliver the catalogue, keep the service working, and prevent abuse.
07 Running commands and Termux integration
The App is a reference and learning tool for Linux and Termux commands. When you choose to run a command, the App passes it to the Termux application installed on your own device using the com.termux.permission.RUN_COMMAND permission.
- Commands are executed locally on your device, inside Termux.
- We do not collect, record, log, or transmit the commands you run, nor their output or results.
- We cannot see what you run in Termux.
The App also performs a local check for an active VPN connection, and a local check of your internet connection. Both are evaluated entirely on your device and are never transmitted to us.
Commands you choose to run execute with the permissions you have granted to Termux on your device. You are responsible for the commands you run — only run commands you understand.
08 Legal bases for processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Consent — for personalised advertising and any optional permissions you grant. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the App and our servers secure, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to improve the App. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must comply with applicable law or respond to lawful requests.
09 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data where there is no lawful reason for us to keep it.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Object — object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
Users in India have additional rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to access information about your personal data, the right to correction and erasure, the right to grievance redressal, and the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at codeninjaapps07@gmail.com. Please include enough information for us to understand and respond to your request. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in India, the Data Protection Board of India.
Because we do not hold an account for you, we often hold no personal data that can be linked to you. In that case we will tell you so.
10 Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Server request logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated. Preference data stored on your device remains until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
Our advertising partners retain advertising data according to their own retention policies. We do not store advertising data on our own systems.
11 How we protect your data
We use commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we handle, including encryption in transit over HTTPS, access controls, and keeping our systems up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12 International data transfers
Our advertising partners and service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Where you provide consent to personalised advertising, that consent covers the transfer of advertising data to our partners in the countries in which they operate.
13 Children's privacy
The App is a technical tool intended for developers, students, and IT professionals. It is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
14 Third-party links and services
The App may contain links to third-party websites, stores, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with personal data.
15 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
